Happy December lovely ones! ^_^
This year I’ve been hit with a double whammy for the cutest little addition to my family. My baby cousin turns 2 this week and of course Christmas falls in just 22 days, so I’ve been hastily compiling ideas for tiny boy presents. To find a cute gift for any young present-receivers this year or if you’re planning on taking part in a Christmas gifting charity appeal, read on for my picks…
PillowPets (from £12.99): We bought a lamb PillowPet for my cousin last year and he absolutely adores it. From lying on it – read: spontaneously body-slamming it – to chatting away to the lamb when wrapped up, it is a really cute little gift for any little one and there are plenty of characters, animals, etc. as well as sizes. Suitable for ages 3+.
Clothing at Next and Alexandalexa.com: Clothing is an odd gift to receive at any age (in my opinion!) except for little ones. Tiny clothes are so much fun to browse and shop, and my favourite picks come from Next and Alexandalexa.com. I’ve picked up this Navy Pattern Knit (£12) for my cousin’s present and it is just so cute! These are great as new parents will really appreciate more clothes at this time of year what with money and weather struggles. Alexandalexa.com offers a higher end, designer selection, perfect for a luxury. I’d probably recommend a jacket like this Barbour Navy Skipton Parka Jacket (£138) if the child in question is in the market for a lasting injection of style.
Lego Lord of the Rings Pirate Ship Ambush (£80.99): I’ll put my hands up and admit that, growing up, I was somewhat of a tomboy. I was a TNMT girl, Lego fan, Pokemon master and Power Rangers enthusiast. Whilst things have slightly changed now, I can now hand-on-heart recommend a deluxe Lego goodie as a Christmas present that your little one will love! Please please check the age suitability and use your own judgement with this, as small Lego pieces are dangerous, but my cousins and I spent every Saturday night playing with a pirate ship and I’m yet to find anything more fun… Ahem.
Artbox Plushies: Childhood toys stay with people forever. For nieces, nephews, baby brothers and sisters, finding a perfect plush is invaluable! I adore Artbox and the little Japanese anime/manga store in the Trocadero Centre in London for affordable plush toys in all different styles. Every little ‘un should have a cuddly Moomin, Domochan or Hello Kitty to love and to hold! Suitable for all ages.
Wooden or Collectible Children’s Books: This could be a really obvious choice or a forgotten gem, but books are an amazing gift for children. I love seeing my childhood favourites propped up in our bookshelf and will certainly be passing them down to my own kids someday. My favourites include: ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’ (£3.85), ‘Elmer’ (£3.85), ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’ (£4.99) and ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid of The Dark’ (£10.96), all of which are beautifully illustrated and some even come with collector covers and/or audio discs.
