Once in a while, it’s good to keep things simple and stripped right back. I’ve a tendency to go all out when I, erm, go out these days and I think that’s just a takeaway of being a work-from-home type: I spend most of my days in glorified loungewear or workout gear. And so it came to be that I realised I was missing two essential wardrobe pieces: the classic white shirt and a pair of adidas Originals FARM Superstars, a ubiquitous fashion shoe these days.
New for SS17, adidas Originals teamed up with The FARM Company to bring fresh vibes to the iconic Superstar. I’d been eyeing up a pair of black and white Superstar’s to add to my shoe clan for the longest time so I was pretty damn excited when this pair landed shores. They’re inspired by the tropics with lacy floral Trefoil stripes and they’re ideal for teaming with my nouveau favourite jeans, the Topshop Jamie with an undone raw hem. Dreamy.
I picked up this white shirt from Forever 21 after spying it on Amy (The Little Magpie). That girl could sell me socks from a single outfit shot, I’m sure! I’m justifying the impulse buy by reminding myself that somehow I didn’t have a white shirt in my stocks. Whuuuut. I adore the embroidered You + Me pocket – you know me and my chest details… (?!) – and the easy, dropped shoulder cut. Can’t wait to wear it with heeled boots and leather trousers soon for a wholly new look.
What are your favourite forgotten classics?
