I can hardly believe that we’re a week (and then some) deep into September. This favourite month of mine, but then aren’t they all?, filled with pottering and reading and rushing this way and that, busy in mind and in physicality. In fact, it wasn’t until I opened my MacBook lid yesterday afternoon that I noted it’s been a little quiet, a little post-sparse around these parts! Busy weeks are, however, a freelancer’s guilty pleasure, a reminder that not all is lost and that somewhere down the line, things are going well, ticking along nicely.
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, swirling around and easing me through the rest-of-the-year…
一. Flurries of leaves floating to the ground, a surefire sign that autumn is on its’ way and it promises to bring crunchy leaves and crisp air in its’ wake.
二. A Thai takeaway on Tuesday evening. Babybutter graduated that afternoon and we all cosied up around the table to feast on Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Pineapple Fried Rice and more.
三. Kitten cuddles in abundance. Harvey’s family welcomed a new kitten to their home last weekend and it has been so special to watch her adapt to a new home and find her feet, especially with toughening up against their chilled dog!
四. Burying my head in a book and emerging an entire evening and world and life later. I’ve truly been making the most of…
五. My library card! I absolutely must implore you to check out the library situation in your local area. Ours is really well stocked and I’ve been enjoying three-or-four books a week, read with mugs of coffee and often cosied up in Granny’s armchair underneath a blanket, Milo at my feet.
六. Winning Lily’s Instagram giveaway. I won an Urban Decay Naked2 palette and I’ve been so into trying new eyeshadow combinations.
七. A slick of Essie’s After School Boy Blazer. Enough said, really.
十. Spying munchkin pumpkins in Sainsbury’s. So. Damn. Cute.
What’re some of your petite joys, lately?
