Welcome to festive gifting week at Daisybutter! It’s the most wonderful time of the year and I can’t WAIT to share my favourite present picks with you. From affordable stocking fillers to lavish treats for your loved ones, you’ll find something for everybody in this year’s series.
Let’s kick-start this fresh-feeling Monday (mighty cold out, isn’t it?) with a gift for the ladies in your life. Girlfriends, BFF’s, Mama’s, your personal trainer, your best friend’s Mum… the sky is the limit.
£15 and under
Monogram Leather Cardholder (£15) – Warehouse
I am absolutely obsessed with the new monogramming service at Warehouse. From cardholders to Celine Trio-esque cross-body bags, you can now have your initials embossed to a select range of leathers and I am down for that. The girls in one of the offices I freelance for and I spent ages contemplating having ‘Celine’ or ‘Chanel’ embossed into a bag 😉 At just £15, this little metallic cardholder would make a beautiful – and practical! – gift for her.
Fig + Cassis Travel Tin Candle (£8.50) – Hobo Candles
Hobo Candles are pretty much what I exclusively burn at home and so it comes as no surprise that I’d include one in my end-of-year gift guide. The Fig + Cassis fragrance continues to be my favourite and their candles are all hand-poured in England with cotton wicks and soy wax for a cleaner burn. I find the fragrance lasts absolutely ages and they’re beautifully packaged for gifting.
Balm Dotcom (£15) – Glossier
One of my winter favourites in the beauty realm has to be Glossier’s ever-popular Balm Dotcom. Touted a universal skin salve, this is a multi-purpose balm that can be used on your lips, face, elbows… Just about anywhere! I have the glittery Birthday version which remains strictly on my lips and it’s a handbag staple, leaving my lips soft and supple and quickly melting flaky skin away. The millennial pink and white packaging would be a dream for your best friend to unwrap on the 25th.
Concrete Small Dish/Coaster (£10) – Copper & Solder
For the lady in your life who literally has everything, this little dish from Copper & Solder is perfect. An ideal stocking filler, the dish is handmade, coated in light sealant with a light resin coating that makes it wipeable. I think this would be so perfect popped atop a dressing table for storing daily rings and trinkets!
The Bubble World’s Smallest Bottle of Sparkling Wine (£12.99) – Selfridges
Housed in a beautiful racing green bottle with a champagne-tone satin ribbon and key charm, this bottle of sparkling wine makes a statement. It’s ideal for boosting a gift or giving to aunties and other lesser-seen family members.
£25 and under
Dreamscape (£18.95) – LUSH Cosmetics
Cruelty-free and widely known as ‘the place that smells great’, LUSH offer a huge range of Christmas gift options. I’ve found these make an excellent bonus under-the-tree gift, even if the scent does give it away way ahead of time! The Dreamscape set comes in a silk knot wrap and houses my favourite Twilight bath bomb, Dreamtime bath oil (LOVE this!) and the Snow Fairy naked shower gel (a crowd pleaser), as well as their Rocket Science bath bomb that I’m yet to try.
Modern Celadon Vase (£23.95) – West Elm
This beautiful West Elm Modern Celadon vase is such a luxe, gratuitous home decor item that it’d make a perfect gift for your friend that’s perhaps just spent all of their disposable income on a very overpriced house.
Moleskine Hardcover Passion Travel Journal (£19) – John Lewis
If you’ve got a pal that’s planning on nailing their travel goals in 2018, why not treat them to this Moleskine journal? I’m besotted with this idea, even though I’ve only got one travel plan in store for 2018 so far. It comes with dedicated sheets to log and record your trip and thoughts, as well as little folders to store tickets and all of that other good stuff.
Burning Rose Candle 240g (£54) – BYREDO
This is the fragrance that was burned at Glossier’s London pop-up in the summer and I’ve had it in my phone’s Notes apps ever since. Burning Rose smells absolutely heavenly: rose absolute with a woody undertone that feels like grown-up girly chic. The black candle jar and iconically simplistic label will sit perfectly in their home, too.
Sorbet Leather Cardholder (£175) – ROKSANDA
Roksanda Illicinc remains one of my favourite British designers to date and this ROKSANDA cardholder recently became one of my newest objects of desire. In four pastel shades that the label has lovingly (and quite aptly) dubbed ‘Sorbet’, the cardholder is quirky, cute and practical. I adore the bubble on the side and this would be the ultimate luxury for your best friend to ‘unbox’ on the big day, don’t you think?
Star Print Wash Bag (£34) – Anthropologie
We’ve got a friend that’s obsessed with the stars (it me…) and this little wash bag from Anthropologie is just perfect. Whilst I certainly don’t need any more wash bags, this is that sort of luxury that my friends never splurge on and so it’d be a great little under-the-tree surprise.
Charlotte Tilbury Instant Eye Palette (£60)
Now for the cornerstone of this guide: the Instant Eye Palette from Charlotte Tilbury. At an eye-watering £60, it’s one for the true makeup enthusiast, housing four complete eye looks that CT is so famed for. The sets are all completely wearable and the signature rose gold packaging means it’s one that they’ll always reach for. Bloomin’ obsessed.
Mickey and Minnie Little Patches Mickey Round Bag (£50) – Cath Kidston
This Mickey Round bag is the prettiest little thing from Cath Kidston’s latest Disney collaboration. My best friend is a huge fan of Cath Kidston so this might just be winging its’ way underneath a certain tree…! Just look at those 3D ear appliqués!
Melodie Embellished Flats (£130) – Anthropologie
Last but certainly not least, these embellished flats are so picture-perfect that they probably could be framed and used as an artpiece. With a delicate ankle strap, they’re oh so wearable and I think my own Mama would find these an utter dream to pair with jeans and cosy knits for lunching with her ladies.
What are you picking up for the lady in your life?
