Happy Friday! What a week, eh? From the post-snow day madness on Monday to last-minute (for me, anyway!) Christmas errands, this mid-month week has been all kinds of busy in the best ways. As planned, my work diary is beginning to wind down though and as of 3pm this afternoon, my out of office is officially on! Let the festive fortnight begin!
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the things that have brought a moment of happiness to my week, this week:
一. Seeing the wonder on Milo’s face on Sunday morning when we opened the patio doors to him to reveal a blanket of powdery, fresh white snow in his garden kingdom. He, of course, bounded through the snow, ate a few mouthfuls and got the zoomies before returning to dry himself off(!!) in the throw we keep on the sofa in the front room.
二. Toff being crowned Queen of the Jungle on I’m A Celeb! I’m not one for reality TV – bar Made in Chelsea and I’m A Celebrity, coincidentally – but Toff totally won my heart this series. I had a bad taste in my mouth about her before the series began but she stole the show, didn’t she?!
三. Having my Christmas shopping neatly ticked off for the year! A first!
四. The snowfall in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. My Friend ID is 0148 7467 993, please feel free to add me.
五. Learning new exercises at Barre class and smashing my gym goals.
六. My cute baby Christmas tree, sitting pretty in the corner of my bedroom!
七. A wildly beautiful sunset on Monday afternoon, glowing pink, orange and scarlet across fields-worth of untouched snow. A reminder of how stunning winter can be amongst the moaning British population!
八. My MUJI touchscreen gloves, forever my favourite item of clothing come these winter months.
九. An afternoon spent cosy with my love, absentmindedly watching anime, snacking and cuddling. Pass the sick bucket, I know.
十. Dad’s homemade five-spice tofu for dinner: my food kryptonite of late and a total game-changer when it comes to vegetarian Chinese dishes.
What are some of your petite joys lately?
