There’s something about January and the idea of a fresh slate that makes me try a touch harder to look presentable and get some better use from my, let’s face it, extensive makeup stash. After a few weeks of equally extensive indulging and eating foods that don’t quite fuel a healthy complexion, my main focuses are to give glow, hydration and clean colour.
Meet my January makeup medley.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream
I mentioned in Monday’s post that the Magic Cream by Charlotte Tilbury has been somewhat of a godsend and so I had to shine the spotlight on it again here. A gloriously thick concoction, this moisturiser is designed to lift the complexion and transform tired, dull skin. It’s made with BioNymph Peptide Complex that stimulates collagen production, with SPF15 and an anti-UVA filter to protect your skin from the sun, whilst hyaluronic acid and wild pansy extracts seal in moisture. Cruelty- and paraben-free, I’ve been using this daily so far this month and it’s really helped to enliven my complexion.
Glossier Super Bounce
Although I think there are serums much greater than Super Bounce, I’m really into layering this lightweight concentrate with my makeup in the mornings. Super Bounce is made up of hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 to both plump the skin up and bring back elasticity for soft supple skin. I find that layered underneath my face base (a BB cushion, FYI!), it makes my makeup apply smoother and gives just enough moisture without meaning I have to wait 20 minutes for the product to sink in.
Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette
I was SO excited to unwrap the Sweet Peach palette by Too Faced this Christmas! A present from my sister (I gifted her the Urban Decay Naked Heat), I’ve been making a considered effort to reach for this and introduce some clean, peachy shimmer to my makeup looks. I like to use a wash of Luscious teamed with Caramelised in the outer corner, or Candied Peach teamed with Cobbler for everyday looks.
Glossier Haloscope in Quartz
Yup, you already knew this one was coming.
I’m just addicted to the IRL compliments, okay? Haloscope, when swiped atop the cheekbones, gives a glow like no other. Dewy but subtle, it gives the perfect ‘I just left the gym looking like Karlie Kloss’ look.
What’re you wearing on your face this month?
