This week has been a flurry of to-do lists, pastel-highlighted notes and endless errands to run. The reason? It’s a classic case of pre-holiday prep and having to make sure everything is ticked off, signed off, invoices sent off, invoices paid, laundry done, money changed… I could go on, but I’m sure you can empathise with me here! I’ve also been enjoying the June sunshine and have taken it upon myself to eat lunch outdoors and schedule in a lengthy dog walk each evening by the lake.
Whilst we’re here, I thought this would be a great time to let you all know that I’ll be taking a short summer break from normal Daisybutter proceedings for the next week. Like I mentioned in the weekend’s Sundaze post, Harvey and I are flying to Spain for our summer holiday tomorrow and I’ve decided to take it off completely so as not to incur any worries about ensuring content is written and scheduled with promotional posts on my social media channels. Ain’t nobody got time for that. Instead, I’ll just be sharing photos over on my Instagram (@winyeemichelle) and will be returning on Monday 9th July to resume my usual 4-posts-a-week routine, with a fresh set of photos and (hopefully) much clearer outlook! If you find yourself craving something new to read, let me direct you to my Reading List for some recommendations.
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this week:
一. Finally trying the delicious Booja Booja ice creams. SO yum!
二. Receiving my bridesmaid shoes in the post and feeling ridiculously excited to be maid-of-honour for my best friend in January.
三. Admiring all of the stunning wildflowers that England’s summer has to offer. The vivid colours are quite something to behold and I’m lapping up every and any opportunity to shoot them!
四. The organised state of my in-bedroom bookshelf. I finally transferred all of my ‘read’ books to the family bookcase downstairs and now my ‘to be read’ pile looks much more manageable! (But for how long…?)
五. Two words: Love Island.
六. The sweet pocket of time in-between dinner and bed where I break off a few squares of chocolate and indulge in a face mask, reading and book club session.
七. The sheer anticipation of our next holiday together.
八. Our chilli peppers and courgettes finally enjoying a growth spurt!
九. Remembering my tumbler and stainless steel straw 4/5 times I’ve been for an iced coffee this week. Yes!
十. TAYLOR. SWIFT. I saw Taylor Swift on her reputation Stadium Tour last week and it just cemented to me why she is my favourite human and one of my ongoing role models. What a total babe.
