Whilst the blazing heat in England this summer has been a welcome treat, the weather gods have finally dialled things down a notch and we all finally stand a chance at being able to dress properly instead of throw on beach-worthy pieces and hoping for the best. I can’t be the only person that’s slipped a bikini on underneath their outfit for just a touch more comfort, can I?! My summer wardrobe of late has consisted of linen dresses and shorts, little cami tops and floaty midi dresses, but I finally dared to browse my favourite online destinations last night, and here are my top finds…
Knot striped dress by Mango ∙ Twist front crop shirt by Topshop ∙ Daisy stripe wrap skirt by Warehouse ∙ Crème de la crème printed T-shirt by Le Mot ∙ Day Off T-shirt by être cécile ∙ The Teale dress in Purple Haze by Realisation Par ∙ Mini dress in mixed print by ASOS Design ∙ Gradient trainers from adidas by Stella McCartney ∙ Black Falabella Box shoulder bag by Stella McCartney ∙ Satin knot strap espadrille sliders by New Look
Top of my list is this charming midi dress by Mango – the knotted front would be so flattering, particularly on girls like me with a smaller bust, and the asymmetric hem keeps it fresh. Hand in hand with the knotted trend, I’ve also been eyeing up this cropped shirt by Topshop. I love shirts and blouses and think they look lovely paired with denim for a relaxed look or with culottes for a smarter take.
One of the biggest trends at the moment is that of the clashing print. And while this Realisation Par Teale dress doesn’t boast clashing prints, I think it’d be adorable paired with sheer polka dot socks and a pair of sandals. This wrap skirt from Warehouse would also be a great way to tap into the look! I love the daisy pattern and the striped insert, and would pair it with a slogan tee and a pair of trainers. Comfort beats all. Speaking of slogan tees, my beloved Brandy Melville tops have finally met their match and are holey, yellowing and just a little bit gross. What those purchases did teach me, however, is that I bloody love a slogan! So I’m looking at investing into these fun options from Le Mot and être cécile (who’ll always have my heart for their personality-infused designs).
Finally, I’m craving a slice of something new in my accessory kit: the Falabella Box bag has piqued my attention time and time again and I definitely think that’ll be my next big investment… house aside that is! And how cute are these satin knot sliders from New Look? I think they’d make a great pairing with ankle grazer jeans and little camis, or midi slip dresses, for those all-important late summer gatherings in the garden.
