Autumn/winter dressing is all about looking just as cosy as you should feel during the cold winter months. Topshop’s latest drop for AW10 is perfectly influenced by the quintessential British elements of Burberry and in an earthy, humble colour palette inspired by Chloé.
I absolutely LOVE this look on the top left with its’ preppy markings. A gorgeous cape coat, patterned tights and floppy hat? Sign me up for the first semester. The coat will definitely be on my wishlist, despite it being more than likely to drown my petite, 5″2 self… The next look stands out to be for the clashing textures and hues – taupe leather shorts and grey rib-knit socks unexpectedly work in the best way. Lastly, the coat in the third shot is heaven. If I manage to get my hands on it, I have no doubts that the entire season will be defined by it.
Layering is key once again this autumn/winter, and it allows you to create infinite style possibilities out of a few pieces. I adore the heeled lace-up shoes, taupe blazer and layered scarves in the fifth look – it’s an absolute winner for this Blair Waldorf wannabe minion. And finally – I’d like to think I saved the best til last! – how adorable is this mouse-eared hat?! The entire British high street has been gripped by animal ear details, but Topshop has totally stolen the show with their rendition.
