Day 2 in the Eyeko office and it was a hectic one. Très confusing, but I feel like I’m slowly getting the hang on the inner workings of a PR role. The majority of my day was spent addressing and packing mail-out packages for press contacts, and making some more press calls. Those tricky calls proved to be much less scary today, especially as I spent my evening scripting and practicing…!
One of the things that I enjoy most is attention to detail. How many of you are swayed by beautiful packaging, thoughtfully considered little details and feeling special? I know I always am! My morning was spent writing postcards. If you’ve ever received an Eyeko order, I’m sure you’ll know what I’m talking about. Every mail-out, whether for press or a blogger, comes perfectly wrapped and packaged, along with a press release, complimentary stickers, an affiliate card, and a handwritten postcard. And that was my main role today!
Later in the day, I helped Nina and Max plan some exciting upcoming events and was shown the ropes of community management. It was so fun to interact with customers and bloggers on Facebook and Twitter, and oh so surreal to see some of my Twitter regulars pop up on there!
Finally, a massive thank you to all my amazing followers! I hit 300 followers today on Google Friend Connect, and I’m so excited! Things are, as you can imagine, a bit crazy down my end right now: I’m on this amazing internship, preparing for my driving test, organising a University group blog, working on a new feature on Daisybutter, and I’m moving in to my new flat on the 4th! But once things settle down, I’m thinking of holding some sort of giveaway again – I will get my thinking cap on 😉 Thanks SO much everyone – big loves to you all!
