Feels like an age since I posted an outfit post on here. I believe it has been an entire week since my last one, which is crazy as I usually like to post three or four per week. I feel ever so slightly out of the loop but have been trying to catch up on all of your blogs. I just felt like taking a short break from blogging and keeping up with Twitter, I went back to University this week and one of my friends came to visit me in Southampton, so it wound up being the perfect time to hit pause.
(Blouse, New Look;
I picked up this sheer blouse from New Look last weekend. I saw it a while ago and added it to my wishlist, tried it on, went back to the store, tried it on again, and the rest is history. I had to size up to get my ideal fit though: it was a little tight on the shoulders and didn’t quite cover my derrière which are both qualities I was looking for in a shirt. Plus, with the 20% student discount, it came to just £17.50! I wore it with a bodycon skirt that’s seen better days, plus sheer polka dot tights. In fact, I’m loving the sheer quality of this ensemble, and think it’ll look even better when the weather picks up.
Of course this British fashion blogger couldn’t make it through a post without at least one mention of the weather 😉
This week saw the start of a new semester at Uni. It wasn’t much of a busy or hard week. Mmost of our lectures and seminars were just a run-through of what we’re covering over the semester. Blah. I’m already getting stressed just thinking about the workload. Goodbye social life! However I’m really excited to get to grips with writing weekly features for my Magazines and Marketing unit, and the weekly styling assignments for my Fashion and Styling portfolio. I suppose most of the semester sounds interesting, but there’s a LOT of it.
I bought a tripod at long last, and it feels good to have more options of where I can take photos! I broke my last tripod, and its been ages since I used one for outfit photos. Hopefully when I’m home and in my new house, I’ll be able to “experiment” with outside shots too! I always prefer natural light over natural-light-in-a-room-that’s-shadowed. Also, sincere apologies and all for the AWFUL quality of the photos today, I’m on the verge of throwing it out of my 12th floor window. Finally, I reached over 1000 collective followers on my blog and 100,000 page views this week on the blog: Thank you girls (and guys!) for all of the overwhelming support, got lots of love for you!
PS. Currently listening to Joshua Radin – Streetlight on repeat. Beautiful, beautiful song.
