I’m going to be completely honest with you here.
For the first time since around September 2010, my bank account is blissfully enjoying being out of the red. Living that student life. It’s been so stressful trying to successfully manage my finances when each student loan instalment that comes through to me is still several hundred short of my incredibly cheap rent!
Somehow, I’ve coped and I’m now back in the black, back to earning from my part-time job. So I thought I’d indulge in a little online browsing and I might just be able to part ways with my money for one of these pieces. I just can’t decide which!
Hand Crochet Flower Kimono, Topshop
Although this crochet kimono won’t be to everyone’s taste, I’m absolutely besotted with it.
I spent an entire evening reading Fashiontoast last week and decided within minutes that I needed a slightly ostentatious, oversized knitted piece to lend a bohemian vibe to my summer wardrobe. Rumi, you continue to be one of my top style inspirations!
I’d style this with
everything in my wardrobe a little sundress and some tan sandals.
‘Amper’ Canvas Bag, One Language
Readers of my Uni blog will have already seen me talk endlessly about this bag.
I came across One Language at the weekend and couldn’t believe my luck when I discovered their selection of beautiful canvas totes. The Amper includes a laptop pouch, zipped compartments and a custom, inspirational quote lining. The only problem is it’s about $110 more than I can afford until at least graduation…
Skull Charm, Swarovski
I’m not much of a skull kind of girl in all honesty. In fact, I’m not a lover of any brash patterns or colours and statements on clothing.
Alexander McQueen inspired pieces, however, I am totally game for! I saw Swarovski’s new range of jewellery charms in-store yesterday when I popped to London with the Mamabear and sister, and fell in love with this. I think it’d make a lovely addition to the charm bracelet I got for my 18th birthday!
Chloe Rose Drape Dress, Yayer
I’ve been lusting after this dress for a good two or three weeks now – can it be mine now please?!
Of all of the items featured today, this item is the one that has torn me the most. On one hand, it has the most lovely freeflowing shape to it, yet on the other, I highly doubt I’d get any wears out of it. I can imagine it worn with the knitted kimono for some reason, and a sweet, messy topknot! Gahh, what’s a girl to do?!
Cream Crochet Collar Swing Top, Topshop
This is one of the 50/50 items on my list. It reminds me of nightwear in a way, but I can imagine it worn with Navajo-inspired shorts and little pixie boots for a different look, and even on top of a dress for that layered look. The little ribbon bow detail just completes the look for me: I often pin a black bow brooch on my peter pan collar pieces for something a little extra!
Camel Chino Shorts, Miss Selfridge
As soon as I saw these shorts on the Miss Selfridge website, I thought of Rose!
These are absolutely gorgeous and would totally flatter anyone’s legs, tanned or not, over the summer. I’m still very much into my neutrals, as you’ve probably noticed from my overall covet list. Camel tones are still lurking around, and remain to be one of the most versatile colours to have in your wardrobe.
I’m currently taking a break from more portfolio work to bring you this blog post today.
Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on these channels: I was ill on Wednesday night and yesterday so have been struggling to keep on top of everything. My deadlines begin again next Wednesday, and I’m starting to feel the strain, even though I’ve used today to get up to speed with all of my written work.
