I haven’t posted at this time of the day (well, evening) in absolutely ages. I’m usually a lady of leisure – cough, student – with a stupidly early schedule so my posts are often up by the afternoon when I’ve got all my things done.
Today was a bit of a strange day though and included some impromptu shopping and a sporadic BBQ dinner, but I’ll come to that later!

Breaking out my new Topshop skirt for its’ second wear within a week. Oops!
I have a tendency of overwearing new pieces, so I apologies if that annoys anyone. I think it’s purely down to the fact that I don’t shop nearly as much as I did before I scooted off to Uni. So when something new actually enters my wardrobe, it’s somewhat of a novelty.
I’ve wanted to wear this skirt with a draped top since the second I got it, and it just doesn’t photograph properly in my opinion. It looked nicer in real life, I promise! I think this little ensemble today was inspired by Jenny, who always wears the sweetest soft, draped yet tailored pieces. She has the loveliest blog, and Jenny from the Block is definitely one of my Top 5 favourites!
I went shopping with one of my friends from college today.
Was good to see her and have a natter about the most random of topics, and we even popped for a sneaky drink at Spoons with another pal from college! I tried gin and tonic for the first time ever, and can conclude it is one of the best. Probably shouldn’t have opted for an alcoholic beverage though, in hindsight, I’m currently sat watching Supersize vs. Superskinny, nursing the most awful sore throat ever.
We (as in the brother, sister and I!) also decided to have a BBQ for dinner tonight. My brother was the chef, and we just had the standard hot dogs and burgers, and the sister and I contributed a potato salad, which – for a first time make – was really good!
