Hello again my lovelies! I trust you’re here on this sunny Wednesday for another dose of style inspiration and to gather ideas of how to get more wears out of your wardrobe staples?
Or perhaps you’re just wiling away time as we hit the mid-week marker?
I can’t quite decide if I’m looking forward to the weekend or not. Whilst it does make a great excuse for some extreme chocolate consumption on all of our behalves and some time off work, it also means Easter break is over and I’ll be pootling back to Uni late on Sunday night. Please don’t make me go…
This week’s Ways to Wear item is the New Look A-line denim skirt. Jess requested this piece last week and it is the ultimate early summer staple, so I absolutely HAD to feature it. As with all of my previous items, there are plenty of more affordable alternatives on the High Street and it’s almost certainly something you’ll already have in your wardrobe.
Look One won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I spotted this gingham bralette in Topshop earlier in the week and wanted to style something with it. I also added a pair of ankle socks – worn scrunched down, of course – and these plait detail wedges, a la Harriet and Emma for a laid-back early summer ensemble.
Look Two feels super girly and whimsical.
I am borderline obsessed with this layered top by H&M and have since found myself coveting similar, layered styles. And in a similar vein, I’m *really* into coral hues at the moment: not too pink, not too orange… the perfect girly Elle Woods colour.
Every time I feature my Primark penny loafers in an outfit, I’m showered with so much lovely feedback, so I had to style this look with an off-white version. It’s such a simple yet effective way to elevate an outfit with a fresher edge.
For the final Look this week, I’ve taken inspiration from the Great British summer and seaside resorts, with straw and wooden accents.
I really think there’s something SO quaint and chic about a button-through denim skirt. And as it seems as though every style blogger and their pet parrot has this scalloped edge button-through top now, I thought I’d include it. No need to buy anew!
Wear it untucked for an off-duty aesthetic, and finish the Look with a sweet boater hat.
