Opted for a simple summery look today, although I didn’t stray from my signature black palette. What can I say? I naturally gravitate towards dark, autumnal palettes over brights and pastels!
I really wanted to brave a cropped top and skirt ensemble, but a) it looks like it’ll pour down with rain any minute now, and b) I think I’d feel just a touch too exposed.
(Black panelled tunic dress worn as top, Miss Selfridge;
Pink skater skirt, Topshop;
Cream lace detail skinny belt, Primark;
Leaf necklace, Topshop;
Wooden Ampersand necklace, c/o Maria Allen Jewellery;
Swan ring, Topshop.)
Nothing too special to comment on here: the panelled tunic remains a favourite of mine, despite it being around two years old now, and I thought the subtle panelling would look sweet with my simple skirt.
By the way, anyone else find that this Topshop skirt would easily win the prize for most easily creased skirt?! I added the belt halfway through my photos, and quite like it, although I get tired of wearing belts, and usually take them off! I think we might be popping out later, if so, I’ll probably throw on my London Fashion Week canvas tote and my little navy moccasins. I never wear shoes indoors, so it seems ridiculous to wear them for the sake of outfit photos taken indoors!
Thought I’d have a bit of a catch up with you all; I haven’t been away from little Daisy for this long since my trip to Paris with the Uni girls last year! It’s been good to have a bit of a detox from the Internet and focus on reality, but I’m more than ready to sit down with a coffee and read through my favourite blogs now.
So what has been happening in my world?
Well… I had a sweet start to the week with some relaxation at home, and a little walk and long conversations by the lakes in my hometown accompanied by a pink sunset. I had an awful, awful shift at work, involving (very) young footballers pelting me with water balloons and jelly. Whatever happened to parenting?! I finally got to meet Emma, Emma, Zoe and Lily, amongst other bloggers and some fab brand representatives, at the iFabbo event which was so much fun in the sweetest little venue. Lots more to share about that next week, a huge thank you to Tonia for having us! And finally, I’ve been an emotional wreck on many occasions, primarily because of ‘final Harry Potter week’ woes.
I might be going to Brent Cross today. I need a new hand cream (mainly for work!) and a new midyear diary. I must be one of the only people around who likes mid-year diaries? Recommendations on a postcard if you have any favourite hand creams? If not, I’ll just plump for my old fave, L’Occitane.
