This is a photo-heavy blog post! It’s recommended you read this post via Wi-Fi or risk burning through your data.
Wasn’t going to post today. I didn’t really wear anything amazing (just a freebie Fashion Week T-shirt and old skirt), and I haven’t felt particularly inspired to take photos of myself. My hair is awful at the moment. It really needs a cut but I can’t decide what I want. I’m currently toying with growing it out a little for the first time in two years, and getting some medium brown, goldeny kind of tones put through the middle layers. We shall see!
I was laying in my room flicking incessantly through glossy magazines last night and thought I’d share some of the spreads that sung to me from Vivi and Mina magazines.
When I wrote a tiny bit about having bought these a week or two ago, there was a lot of interest surrounding them, so I figured it’d be nice to share some pages for those who’ve never read a Chinese or Japanese fashion magazine before. Of the two, Vivi is my favourite, I also adore More magazine, which my Mama usually buys and passes on to me.
What strikes me the most is how Western several of the featured looks are in both issues. Even just a few months ago, the content felt really different. I suppose as the media landscape moves faster and faster, inspiration melts together and produces a melting pot of style.
If you so wish, and if I can find my old copies, I’ll follow up with some scans of the back issues from my stash.
I believe the lovely Winnie also posted some Vivi scans from the last issue, so go and have a look if this interested you.
