This week has felt super long to me. I’ve been feeling SO lethargic, and I had an awful lull in inspiration on Wednesday, but I’m back with a very belated Ways to Wear post.
I’m sure you’ve heard me sing the praises of sheer shirts time and time again on this blog. I honestly can’t get enough of them. They’re a piece that certainly did the rounds in the blogging world a few months ago, I’m sure a few people are at a loss of how to keep them feeling fresh and inspirational.
I’ve gone for something a little different with Look One and it look odd on paper, but I think it’ll look amazing IRL.
The striped bodysuit is perfectly paired down a nude sheer shirt on top. It jazzes up the neutral colour palette and still leaves plenty to the imagination. If you aren’t all too sure about the wacky prints, I’d recommend introducing a warm pop of colour with a burgundy vest.
Tuck the shirt into the harem trousers but don’t tuck it in too tightly. You want to create a relaxed, easy-breezy silhouette. Finally, finish the look with a pair of flat sandals, a gold bangle and your handbag of choice.
Look Two is a girly look with heavy black accents.
I’d imagine it to be beautifully matched, beauty-wise, to flushed dusty pink cheeks and a bold statement lip, perhaps classic red, a deep plum or bright pink with orange undertones.
The little flippy skirt is something I can’t get enough of: the skater, flared shape is super flattering and oh so cute. You can always add a belt for added shape! I adore this Marc B bag, it’s from their new range and has a detachable strap, making it perfect for those nights out where you’re not sure if you’ll always remember to take your bag with you.
Finally, the wedge boots darken the look, and finish the look with a messy, side-swept ponytail, at the nape of your neck, secured with this chiffon bow. Tights are optional!
My final look is my favourite, I think, and something that I’ll be likely to wear come AW11.
I chose a simple black playsuit to go underneath it all, which I’m sure everyone already has. The sheer shirt can then be worn on top (the featured shirt is longline so it’ll cover your bum!) and unbuttoned, with the collar peeping out of the jumper. I also found this clutch which is ridiculously perfect, been looking for an envelope clutch for ages, and this one also comes in black. Add these black wedge boots with a sweet buckle detail and you’re good to go!
Hope you’ve enjoyed reading this week’s instalment! I’m trying to keep these a bit less wordy so the focus is on the looks, but written direction is always good too, right? Let me know what your favourite Look is as always, and enjoy the weekend!
