Yesterday I was invited along to the GLOSSYBOX bloggers’ and press day. I’m sure the majority of you know what GLOSSYBOX is but for the beauty enthusiast newcomer, in a nutshell GLOSSYBOX is a company aiming to reach out to female consumers of the beauty market by delivering luxury beauty samples each month, bridging the gap between brand and customer.
Despite not currently being signed up with my own subscription yet, I definitely think I will be subscribing from October onwards – the concept is something I personally LOVE.
Monki is one of my favourite Swedish clothing brands at the moment. I love their minimal, cosy, easy-wear aesthetic and it is all reasonably priced. Think a happy medium between H&M and Topshop. Wasn’t too sold on the pieces in there, but for a boutique that had opened on the very same morning, it was nicely marketed, and I saw a coat, some jumpers, a pair of boots, ‘that’ headband and a clutch that I’ll probably buy on Tuesday when I’m next in the city.
We went for food and drinks at Vapiano’s which was beyond good, I’d highly recommend. Then we got lost on the way to Morton’s for the event. Lots of drinks, canapes and candles made for a great atmosphere, and I really enjoyed meeting more bloggers and getting to talk to everyone properly.
The GLOSSYBOX team are one of the most dedicated and genuine that I have had the pleasure of meeting, and they were so helpful with answering my inane questions. All of the brands are handpicked by the team, to make sure they are what their target (us!) wants. GLOSSYBOX are looking to expand to bring in a gift subscription service (for your friends and family) and possibly even a men’s version, which would be less regular than the original GLOSSYBOX.
The venue was cosy and very upmarket, perfect for sitting down for a drink and speaking to everyone, and we got to see all of the previous GLOSSYBOX editions, including the infamous one that divided the beauty blogging community.
After a little talk from their Marketing Manager, we were invited to take an empty BOX and fill it with our own selection of products that will be going into the next few months’ Boxes – exciting! It was a bit of a manic, beauty pick-and-mix, and it was lovely to see each product and hear why they’d been selected for future use.
Reviews to follow on my chosen products if you’d like, and a huge thanks goes to Lily, Zoe, Pia, Skye and the rest of the GlossyBox team for organising such a perfect little event!
