Another gloomy day in Southampton, another outfit of muted colours all thrown together in the hope that they looked okay. I’m finally feeling a little more inspired with my wardrobe after a few new additions that I bought today! The high street is certainly working its’ wonder with me recently.
(Lace crinkle top, Topshop;
Fairisle shorts, c/o Romwe;
Longline cardigan, Topshop;
Snood, Unnamed boutique in Hong Kong;
Bracelet, c/o Mulberry;
Bag, c/o Clippy – see details of my bag here.)
I snapped these shorts up with some leftover store credit as soon as I spotted them online! They’re the perfect, high-waisted Fairisle print shorts without being too wintery and they’re ridiculously comfy as well, a jersey wool material that I can’t seem to put into words. Excuse the strange growth on my side by the way, my lens cap and phone were stashed in a pocket and I forgot to take them out for the sake of my photos! I’m typically not a fan of lace but I bought this mint green crinkle lace top in Topshop a few years back with one of my best friends – as in we now own the same top! – and I still love it, mostly because it features the daintiest and most unexpected lace detailing. Pastel trend is in the making for my wardrobe, currently wondering if the neon trend will ever be my forte… Over-excessive detail rambling over, I also popped my things into my Clippy bag after reading Abby’s post about hers yesterday: think it’s time I redecorated mine!
Was surprisingly featured on Grazia’s website again today which put a smile on my face. It’s always nice to see my little blog recognised amongst the masses of blogs out there! In return (kind of), I’ve rotated the free adspace on my sidebar around, so have a click around and you might find some new reading material!
In other news, our magazine project has come together really well and I’m going to try and keep you updated with snippets via my Week in Photos posts. Bought lots of shiny new clothes (not literally shiny) that will no doubt trickle their way into outfit photos on here, and also tried on some flatforms in H&M out of curiosity and fell head over heels, if you’ll excuse the pun, for them. I can also confirm that the leopard graphic printed shirt in Zara is even lovelier in real life! I have coffee and the Ashley Olsen (always been an Ashley girl!) issue of ELLE to cosy up with tonight. Perfect. Happy weekend girls! ♥
