Ah obsessive fashion consumer life. Last Thursday saw me impatiently refresh and refresh the H&M website in hope of nabbing a much coveted slice of the Isabel Marant for H&M collaborative collection. Before you go all lovey-dovey eyed and anticipate pages and (blog) pages of Parisian ethnic sartorial fun though – guys, I only managed to pick up one piece.
This silk blouse from the kidswear range (still in awe that Marant pulled off womenswear, menswear and kidswear in her eponymous drop) is the newest thing in my wardrobe. I absolutely adore it, although am in dire need of a new super-fluffy-could-be-a-teddy cardigan to pair with it for Winter Reasons. It’s sized 10-11 years, but a quick reference on the H&M size guide told me it could be equivalent to a UK 8. Thankfully I’m quite petite everywhere and this fits me perfectly!
I styled mine with leather look shorts – my Topshop ones are the perfect fit – and my Dicker-alikes to channel that whole Isabel Marant aesthetic. If only I’d got my hands on the leather trousers! But these fit the bill well, and I’ll just have to add fleece-lined tights to properly ‘do’ the British winter dressing thing. I’ve caved and cracked out my black faux fur coat too – a number a picked up in Hong Kong back in March and an investment purchase in the Veeko sale if I ever did see one!
Monday Monday, I already can’t wait for you to be over so I can cosy up with a peppermint hot chocolate and a shiny new episode of Made In Chelsea. Alas, reporting, content planning and the weekend’s emails await. Catch you in the comments and Twitter? Yes indeed. x
