Especially when you awaken from your Friday evening slumber, and realise that the tap-tap-tapping against your windowpanes is a persistent trickle of rainfall. And with each insistent raindrop, you realise the best day of the week – Saturday – is trickling away too. So to counteract the watery cycle, you slip into the comfiest jeans known to man, throw on an unintentionally 90’s strappy camisole and badge-emblazoned blazer and get on with mundane errands that you secretly adore.
This ensemble is something I love to crack out when feeling particularly lazy. A simple, tried-and-tested formula that won’t let you down whether you’re heading out for lunch with the best friend, food shopping or chasing the blues away. The jacket was another of my amazing River Island sale finds; oddly my favourite wardrobe pieces are from there! I picked it up over a year ago and it has the most wonderful soft structure tailoring to it. I added a Sophia Webster badge that was designed exclusively for LFW a few seasons ago, just for a touch of 10-year-old chic.
How were your weekends? Mine was perfectly spent, first coaxing myself out of bed, perusing a few YouTube videos, and then heading over to cosy up for the evening under the duvet with an abundance of Pokemon frivolity, OHSHS marathon viewing and sneaking in food. Farewell January blues. x
