Every year, I share my ultimate birthday wishlist on the blog and it seemed wrong not to do the same this year, even though all I really want is a) to feel warm again, and b) a massage. I feel truly lucky to be able to say that I don’t really want for or need any material objects or gifts, and how many times can one say that?!
Of course luxury leathers and countless books are on my wishlist. The A.P.C. Demi Lune bag has totally taken my fancy, especially how I imagine it’d pair with a rib knit midi dress, heeled boots and a camel coat. My annual hankering for a pair of Charlotte Olympia Kitty velvet flats has totally reared its feline head again – just look at this backless loafer version! I’m absolutely dying to get my hands on this miu miu envelope purse – look at that heart and those neat, neat compartments! It’s extravagant, but a girl can dream!
Having said that, I’ve also got a hankering for a Reserved round bag, as seen on the inimitable Liv. I’m trying to make a conscientious effort to cut down on my consumption of luxury leathers in a bid to be a little kinder to the earth and its creatures. This round bag is SO cute and I’d be down to pairing it with culottes, a tee and white trainers. Books-wise, I’d really love to make a dent in my Goodreads bookshelf. 334 on my ‘Want to Read’ list!! Titles like Brit(ish): On Race, Identity and Belonging, American Born Chinese, The Heart, and more stand out to me. Again though, on the mantra of not wanting for gifts: I know I could just as easily head down to my library and check a few of these out!
If we were to get down to the nitty-gritty and force myself to want for something, I’d be OH so down for unwrapping some of the beautiful Herbivore Botanics products. I’m about 75% of the way there with creating a completely cruelty-free beauty and skincare regime, and their Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Cream, Rose Quartz Face Roller and Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask look amazing. I’d also adore a BYREDO candle for my bedroom, and possible a bell jar in which to house it. What can I say?! Ya girl’s growing up.
