Although I’ve always professed to be an autumn girl in that typical way, this year I’ve decided that actually, I bloody love spring. Love. It. I’d never believed in SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) until I noticed just how down in the dumps I felt whenever it’s been grim outdoors and wave after wave of snowstorms hit us in England. It puts a stop to things like being able to pop out without returning 15 minutes later with a halo of frizz about your hair, to longer dog walks where I don’t have to spend an additional hour giving Milo a full bath, or feel the grass beneath your feet. And I know I’m not alone in confessing to spending hours each evening gazing wistfully at sun-soaked holidays abroad.
With the clocks turned forwards and stretches of sun lasting longer than that of rain, I’ve been revelling in devoting weekend mornings to taking Milo for a walk through the farm lanes, spotting cows and horses (Milo is fascinated), before going to our local country pub for a coffee and a portion of chips. Delightful.

A few weeks ago I was invited to afternoon tea at The Ritz, London to celebrate PANDORA’s beautiful new bracelet collection. We had the most wonderful evening sipping the hotel’s signature tea, swapping blogger tips and stories, shooting in the stairways and bathroom, and forming new friendships. I even discovered that Em lives super close to me! Founded on the principles of friendship, the new collection centres on the incredibly pretty Moments sliding bracelet, and I was thrilled to open my gift bag at home to see one of my own! The bracelet is a riff on their classic: made from polished sterling silver, the sliding bracelet features a snake chain and has two stone-set end caps, plus a sliding clasp that’s a perfect of-the-moment finishing touch. I’ve been wearing it on the sly almost every day (it’s tucked into the sleeves in most of my Instagrams!) and it makes a stunning gift for your girlfriends.
Of course to show off the bracelet, I wanted to pay homage to the outfit I wore to The Ritz with a dressed-down though not at all watered-down version. Cue this country walk look.
Centred on the plisse pleat trousers that I BLOODY LOVE, I added a duster jacket, slogan tee and all-white trainers. This is my favourite outfit for weekends right now, especially as I rarely have anything in my diary. Comfy, casual but punctuated with florals to celebrate spring. (Groundbreaking.)
