As with every summer, I had a fresh set of eyelash extensions applied last month which meant that my Makeup Medley completely went out of the window! I always get two sets of eyelashes applied each summer so that I can effectively go makeup free and just concentrate on SPF, keeping my hair looking somewhat non-bouffant, and make sure my skin is getting all that it can. And it works! I had endless compliments from you all after having my lashes done and I’ve had such a great month thus far with a bonus 20 minutes in bed and in fact, it’s meant I can actually focus on other products.
London ladies and fellow Hertfordshire girls, I couldn’t recommend my eyelash girl more. Megan at STYLASHLEE Salon does mine and she is ridiculously talented, is ever so lovely and her home salon is beautiful. A 2-hour booking with consultation costs £70 and she is even on par with my beloved eyelash salon in Hong Kong! (Not sponsored, I just wanted to pass her details along as I’ve had SO many messages about my lashes!)
Herbivore Botanicals Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Creme (CF)
Tropic Hair Feast Deep Conditioning Treatment (CF/Vegan)
When the team at Tropic Skincare got in touch with me earlier in the month, I instantly jumped at the chance to discover some products to solve my hair issues. Since joining the gym and completely falling in love with fitness, I’ve struggled to maintain my hair as I’m washing it more frequently and subjecting it to way more (regular washing and tying up!). The team recommended a selection of products to me that they kindly sent over, but it’s their Hair Feast that stands out to me. This deep conditioning treatment is made from plant proteins, keratin and murumuru butter to feed your hair and make it healthier and more manageable. I’ve used it once a week, for three weeks, and the difference is incredible. My hair doesn’t knot at the back, is easy to tie up and feels so much softer right the way through to the ends! I leave it on for about 5 minutes (wash and apply in the shower, then have it in a towel turban while I moisturise my body, then rinse with my head over the tub).
Tropic Scalp Massager
A bonus in my package from Tropic Skincare, this Scalp Massager has been incredible for an evening relaxation. The idea is that the gentle silicone tips stimulate your hair follicles to encourage healthy growth, and is to be used to massage in your shampoo. I actually use mine either on dry hair (controversial!) or while I wait for my Hair Feast to work its’ magic. If you’re considering picking up Hair Feast, I’d absolutely recommend adding this to your order!
Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Cologne
Finally my last favourite of the month is the beautifully fresh Blackberry & Bay Cologne from Jo Malone. I first fell in love with this when I was living in Hong Kong and a few spritzes instantly transports me back!
”Childhood memories of blackberry picking…A burst of deep, tart blackberry juice, blending with the freshness of just-gathered bay and brambly woods. Vibrant and verdant.”
Note: Jo Malone is not strictly cruelty-free as while they have a ‘no testing on animals’ policy, their products are sold in China. This bottle was purchased 3 years ago and I don’t plan on personally picking up another bottle until Jo Malone is officially CF.
