Boy am I glad to see you. After a rocky end to May (I’ll talk about it all in a DMC tomorrow!), I finally feel rested, optimistic and happy. From a work environment shake-up to feeling totally burnt out and experiencing what could be classed as a quarter-life crisis, I ended up ill and taking a week off social media to work out what I really wanted to be doing. And don’t you worry your pretty little minds, things are just peachy now. Especially as I write this following an especially tough gym session 😉
While I did originally mention back in January that I wanted to really take time off from the business and travel to horizons anew, another of my main goals for this year was to make some serious headway with my savings so I’ve cut my losses and funnelled every last penny towards that. On that note… reader, I’m incredibly excited to say I’ve only gone and booked my first ever house viewing apartment! This blog has seen me through myriad life milestones and I can’t wait to document all of this one. I’M SO EXCITED. Like for real, I spent yesterday making an Excel spreadsheet with varying budget levels for furnishings. Adulting and hellish back-and-forth with estate agents: I’m ready for you.
Shirred Bardot neck crop top by New Look ∙ Tropical leaf print cropped trousers by New Look ∙ Round rattan Bali bag via eBay ∙ Tan heeled sandals by ASOS – similar here ∙ Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in Red Carpet Red (CF)
The cropped Bardot top is also from New Look and, seriously, I could’ve just about cried when I wore this all day and felt comfortable and sassy in it. Last summer I had a bit of a body confidence meltdown, but changing up my diet (just a few tweaks!) and really working on consistency and going heavy at the gym has done me a world of good. After my sister and I shot these photos, I was over the moon at my progress. Finished the look with that infamous Bali woven straw bag (here’s the exact one I picked up, speedy delivery and fuss-free process) and some battered tan ASOS sandals. It’s safe to say beyond my holiday, I’ll be reaching for this look time and time again throughout SS18!
