I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Welcome to Crimbo (I HATE that word) Limbo on Daisybutter. I jest. I don’t have any posts planned bar this one and a special edition of ‘Petite joys’ that’ll be winging its way to you in a few days.
Not one to miss out on too many blogging bandwagons, this year I thought I’d share a classic ‘What I Got for Christmas’ post, with an edited selection of the presents I kindly received.
Raspberry gin and prosecco in hand, let’s get started!
First up, the books! I had a list as long as my arm this year — basically I told everyone to consult my Goodreads TBR list of 300 books and add me as a friend while they were at it — but only received two carefully considered ones instead. Killing Commendatare by Haruki Murakami was top of my list and I’m so happy that my sister nabbed a copy for me. I think it’ll be my first read of 2019! Next, I opened Whisky in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon, a lifestyle/coffee table book by one of my favourite actresses. I’ve been dying to read this and can’t wait to do so, cosied up in a potato coma.
PS. How adorable is this corner bookmark? It was on my Christmas list after I spotted it on Instagram from an Etsy seller!
Then, a whole host of mindful living goodies! I’ve been ‘that guy’ banging on about zero waste and cruelty-free living for the best part of 2018 and long may it continue. Harvey’s sister gifted me a pink water bottle, which’ll be so handy for taking with me out and about. I tend to keep my BRITA one in my gym bag and am always disappointed to find I’ve forgotten it when I go out. I also received a LUSH Snow Fairy set (dreamy!) and my favourite Candy Kittens Blueberry Bliss (vegan) sweets. From my brother’s girlfriend, I received a monogrammed knitted cup holder that will be going straight on my favourite KeepCup, and a ‘book’ of T2 loose leaf tea.
Beauty-wise, my sister went all out and subscribed me to the Kinder beauty box, founded by Evanna Lynch!! It’s a vegan and cruelty-free beauty box and I can’t wait to discover some amazing products. She also picked up a jade face roller for me, and Harvey rounded off the beauty bounty with an Urban Decay Naked Cherry palette.
Next, a pair of Lululemon Align Pants from Harvey! I’ve been dying for another pair to add to my collection and can’t wait to wear these to Barre class next year. These were such a surprise because he spends AGES complaining that I waste my money on frivolous things like this haha. And finally, the biggest surprise of all… Harvey only went and managed to nab me a pair of the limited edition Stella McCartney x adidas Stan Smith’s! I just about died when I opened the box!
