Pictured is a gifted The Quinn bouquet from Bloom & Wild.
- Make a big ol’ cup of coffee in the morning, and also make a song and dance of it. Enjoy it, languidly, perched by a window. Crack open the window, whilst you’re there; the fresh air is kinda unbeatable.
- Spritz a cloud of perfume, like a halo. We might not be out impressing people but, darling, the only person you should be seeking to impress is yourself.
- Remind yourself that your feelings are valid and that every other person feels that way too, or they did yesterday. Don’t beat yourself up about not quite being able to muster up the courage to text your friend back. Equally don’t fret if they’re a touch slower when replying.
- Hydrate!! Drink a glass of water right now. And another when you’ve finished reading this post.
- Enjoy one thing that’s completely yours before bed, be that a video game, a few pages of your book, some episodes of something on Netflix, a crocheting session… Your time is invaluably yours.
- Go for that recommended daily walk. Trust me. Text a friend and wear a mask, and head on a perfectly paced stroll, even if just for 15 minutes.
- Having a tricky day? Read this post… and then ignore me completely! You do you, daisy.
- Refresh your home haven. We’ve been here for a year and we’re all sick of it, right? Spend an afternoon moving trinkets around on the sideboard or updating your bookcase display. Pick up a bunch of fresh flowers, too.
- Schedule in a duvet day. Yes.
- Reach out. To a friend, to a mental health service. My emails are always open to you, too.
- Write it out. Long-form journalling has been a godsend for me this year. It’s been invaluable to let my thoughts, anxieties, joys and memories spill onto paper, willy-nilly. As much as I love sharing a slice of my life with you here, my journal is truly my safe space.
- Breathe deeply, unclench your jaw, stretch it out, and remember to take your vitamins and meds. Always take care of yourself first.
