An evening on a boat at Darcie & May Green!
There are few greater joys in life than soaking up golden hour rays in the London sun. Late summer in the city is pretty unbeatable and such was this little Tuesday after-work evening.
After months and months apart (because, life), Ghenet and I finally made plans to catch-up over dinner on a sun-soaked Tuesday evening. Little Venice is one of my favourite corners of London and so we chose the picturesque Darcie & May Green – a floating canal boat restaurant right on the water.

The barge is unmissable: it’s brightly painted and blooming with seasonal flowers, strung with fairy lights.
Step inside, and you’re greeted by an eclectic mix of travertine tables, rattan chairs and velvet seats.

The menu is small but focused, with dishes spanning plants, sea and land. There’s only one vegan option per section (starter, main, side, dessert), but this was absolutely fine by me…
I opted for their Miso Roasted Aubergine. Topped with Aleppo chilli, pomegranate and tahini miso, tender and flavourful aubergine was served alongside a sumptuously indulgent crispy coconut risotto and crispy cavalo nero kale. I could’ve eaten this ten times over if it wasn’t so perfectly filling!

Ghenet chose their Mushroom Gnocchi, served with porcini and truffle cream, Comté filling and porcini dust.
Of course, because it’s me, I topped mine up with a side of Crispy NSO Potatoes served on a good ol’ dollop of truffle aioli.
I can easily say it was one of my favourite meals I’ve eaten recently.
It was the perfect dinner spot to fuel a much overdue catch-up about all things life, work, Taylor Swift, family and beyond. A heartwarming late summer evening.
