Sorry I’ve been kinda MIA from the blog. For the first time in 5 years of writing this thing, I had a slight writer’s block thing and decided to just shop it out and get on with fun real life. Since we last checked in with each other, my Granny has landed in HK to summer with me, the Big Bang and Beast HK concert dates have been announced and I did a kinda big thing…
Say hello to the new boy in my life, my Chanel Boy.
I’m not even going to try and sugarcoat or justify this little addition to the family. I think ‘owning a Chanel bag’ is somewhere on a lot of ladies’ goals lists right? It’s been on mine for as long as I can remember. Having saved up for this since I graduated and started working, it’s somewhat of a lifetime achievement. I probably could have bought it a year ago if I didn’t get distracted by my Céline Trio, but I honestly feel like I’ve reached a milestone in the same way that most people celebrate anniversaries and all that. 25th April – happy Chanel day to me.
Of course the Classic Flap is still on my list – sorry, I’m not sorry – but the Boy in chevron quilting stole my heart a few months ago and it’s had it ever since.
I chose the classic medium size so I could use this as an everyday ≠ evening bag. I mean, who am I kidding? I’m going to use this all day every day. There’s a ‘new medium’ size too that is a little larger and more deserving of the medium title but I preferred the quilting on this version.
Inside there is just one main compartment plus a slip pocket. Perfect for my iPod or Octopus card!
Chanel Boy in black calfskin leather with chevron quilting.
Brushed silver hardware. Medium size.
Dimensions: 6.5in x 11in x 3.3in / 16.5cm x 28cm x 8.5cm
I think it’s safe to say I’ve earned my shopaholics’ achievement award now! Might post an updated What’s In My Bag once I’ve got a good system going – currently forgetting a variety of essentials every time I leave the house… .____.’
Hoping you’re all having a happy and sunny start to the month!
