Live with good intent.
This year, I’ve been so lucky to live by my own rulebook and define my own days. To prioritise what means most to me whilst making a brilliant balancing act out of the essentials. Freelancing, you can stay. I really like you. There’s a little saying I’ve kept on my Instagram biography – a.k.a. the only way a millennial defines themselves – and that is ‘Live with good intent’ and I’ve lived by it, so to speak, for more than nine months now. For me, it’s all about the idea of living consciously, for the good of yourself and those around you. Good intentions to progress yourself, your career and your lifestyle. Good intentions to make others feel cherished. Good intentions to better the environment and good intentions to change the world for the better, even if in the smallest ways.
Living with good intent this year has meant appreciating every small moment, taking stock of daily greats and indulging in meaningful days. It isn’t necessarily about pushing aside duvet days in favour of ‘let’s get sh!t done!’ days, it’s about doing what you believe is best for you.
“If we’re going to talk, then let’s talk. Forget about what is polite or proper and delve right into what is sincere and honest. Lead me down through the labyrinth of your true, spectacular self. I am not interested in pleasantries. If you want a conversation, then let’s get lost.” – Beau Taplin.
This summer has been filled with sincerity and indulgence and intent and little slices of joy and carefully chosen company. And, you know what? It’s been the best.
