Petite joys

Between in-house bookings, puppy Mama duties (Milo has been under the weather this week) and trying to be a functional human, it’s been a hot minute. However, as ever there has been a wealth of goodness to document and I’m more than excited to share them with you.
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this week:
一. Finishing my third book of the year! In fact, I found it so gripping that I read the final third in one evening. Isn’t it great when you find a book so captivating that you push aside all other occasions to finish it?
二. Morning skyscapes, so often with a sprinkle of snow these days.
三. These avocado print pyjamas.
四. Tiny acts of kindness, quietly tinkering away to leave a glow in your tummy.
五. Laughing until tears roll down your face, over anecdotes with (temporary) colleagues.
六. The feeling of being known and understood. Such a rarity in an age of noise and mind clutter.
七. Mama treating me to a Creme Egg on Tuesday night!
八. The crinkle of the pages in my spare notebook – I accidentally spilled an oat milk coffee all over it last week whilst on a call and trying to make notes, but I secretly love that dried-up page sound.
九. Making plans with my huge, huge family in preparation for Chinese New Year next week! Oh, and reading my lunar horoscope too – the Year of the Dog is lookin’ so sweet for me.
十. Yesterday’s Barre class which worked me to complete fatigue and meltdown but was rounded off with a good ol’ chinwag with my Barre ladies. Who said making friends in your twenties’ was hard?! Ain’t no boundaries when you’re covered in sweat, have squatted some 150+ times with them and are shaking from the knees.
What’re some of your petite joys, lately?
