Petite joys
Happy May!
I woke up this morning (it’s Thursday 2nd May right now) and there were – finally – blue skies dancing up above my head and the plants in our garden have begun to flower. I mean, Dad’s beloved peonies don’t quite seem to have woken up yet, but spring is absolutely en route. I’m excited. (I still wore a coat to work, but y’know, I’ll discuss my climate change concerns in a post soon…)
Life lately has been busy. It’s been so busy that I haven’t been to the gym in two entire months. Two! Which is completely unlike me. I’m hoping to haul myself to the gym tonight though and reacquaint myself with the weights room again to get a bit of a sweat on that isn’t London Underground-induced.
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this week:
一. The feeling of being reunited with your pyjamas after a busy day.
二. Nailing some 50-character copy – easily my work nemesis!
三. Dad’s home from Malaysia and it is SO good to have him back.
四. Taking my foot off the Instagram pedal and sharing the smaller moments. I’m trying to post with the mentality of ‘would this go in a photo album someday?’, and I might even curate this year’s feed into a tangible photo album!
五. A sister date night on Wednesday. I took Louise with me to the masqueBAR Melon Mania launch party and we had so much fun.
六. Avengers: ENDGAME. I have no words.
七. Ditto that for Game of Thrones. Can you believe there are just three weeks/episodes to go?!
八. Finally finishing my bullet journal title pages from January to April. Better late than never, right?
九. Receiving super lovely feedback from two of my clients.
十. Evening sunlight flooding my bathroom whilst I scrub away my makeup from the day.
