Open-hearted joys 開開心心 34

Happy September, my loves!

It’s one of my favourite months of the year, again, and I am feeling so rejuvenated after a fun summer and the August Bank Holiday weekend. (To be honest, since making a conscious effort to take stock of the little things and practice gratitude, every month and season is ‘my favourite’ heh.) I spent the weekend with my boyfriend, then a day in the Cotswolds with my family, and then clearing out my wardrobe – a very overdue task! – ready for a fresh sartorial season.

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite, open-hearted joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. Productive admin-filled Mondays. Honestly, nothing feels better than clearing out the Inbox and fleshing out a weekly planner with all of your to-do’s. I’m working on some really exciting projects at work at the moment, and it feels good to be organised about it!

二. Homemade matcha lattes. The perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

三. The response to our & Chai Asian Snack collection launch! We are so grateful for every single order, click, share and like. After a quiet summer, it feels good to feel focused and be back in the swing of running and growing a small business.

四. Clearing out my wardrobe ready for AW22. I’ve loved summer, but am equally excited for my favourite style season. Lots of bits currently listed on my Vinted account!

五. Organising my car. Sounds odd, but having a clean car and organised boot and glove compartment makes me feel like the MOST together woman.

六. Celebrating my new job with a BYREDO Safran candle. My candle obsession reigns strong!

七. A family day out at Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds.

八. The bittersweet feeling of having finished reading Jade Legacy and, subsequently, the entire Green Bone Saga. Easily my most cherished book trilogy in a long time. If you’re into fantasy and family saga genres with a heavy dose of martial arts and East Asian culture, then this is for you.

九. Date night at our local Korean restaurant.

十. A sister date day on Monday. We packed & Chai orders, went for lunch and coffee, popped to browse books and had the loveliest time!
