Open-hearted joys 開開心心 45

Spring is here, friends! And the astrological shift has really helped to shift my mindset. Those last few weeks of winter really took its toll on me and I feel SO much more positive with a new season to embrace and the thought of longer evenings to enjoy. I also feel aligned (and warm – LOL) enough to resume some semblance of a social life: this week I had a belated birthday meal with some friends and I’ve happily booked in several little friendship dates for the first time in more than a month. Yay!

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite, open-hearted joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. Prioritising Hot Girl Walks on my in-office days. It feels good to add in more walking on these days where I feel super stagnant and stationary.

二. Reading sessions while waiting for my car to charge – forever stacking tasks and habits!

三. Looking forward to our upcoming Mum-and-daughters trip to Rome. Heading back to this gorgeous city and I just can’t wait. I’m looking forward to ticking off even more sights, experiences and restaurants and compiling a bumper Rome travel guide from my two trips – how lucky I am?!

四. Investing in the Copenhagen Blazer and Suit Trousers from Le Capsole. It’s made with recycled materials with eco-friendly Corozo buttons, and will be the perfect spring ‘fit.

五. A Friday afternoon walk ‘round the lake, very novelty Pret in hand. Our town recently got its first Pret a Manger, and everyone – ahem, my girls – was very excited indeed.

六. My Monday lunch break blog-reading sessions. If you blog, leave your link below!

七. Quiet, cosy evenings spent under a blanket playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf on my Nintendo 3DS. How’s that for nostalgia?

八. The seasonal wardrobe switch. I took some time last Sunday to swap out my thick knits for some pre-spring dresses and trousers.

九. A weekend with my siblings, spent catching up and prepping food together ahead of Mother’s Day.

十. Date nights and gym mornings with my boyfriend. Talk about romanticising your 5-9, 9-5 and 5-9 (again)!! I’m the luckiest person alive.
