Our Stay at The Marblous Athens

For our recent trip to Athens, I wanted to break away from the endless Airbnb’s that we’d been discovering in favour of a hotel stay where, shock horror, we wouldn’t have to take our own bins out. The holiday was to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, after all, so a quick search on Booking.com led me to the gorgeous The Marblous Athens.

After our first night, I knew I needed to share a full review about the hotel. The Marblous Athens went above and beyond to make our stay incredible, and I just couldn’t wait to tell you all about it.

Location

24 Voulis, Athens, 10563, Greece

The Marblous Athens is centrally located just behind Syntagma Square and a few moments away from main neighbourhoods, including Monastiraki and Plaka. As such, it is also well-connected in terms of bus and metro access. We took an airport taxi transfer, but can confirm that the bus and metro stations are literally 3-4 minutes away. Plus, it’s just 800 metres away from the Acropolis: perfect if you’re hoping to get to those queues early!

Amenities

All rooms and suites at The Marblous Athens come equipped with a spacious dressing table and desk area, mirrors, comfy mattress, air-conditioning, smart TV, Nespresso machine, complimentary WiFi and walk-in rainfall showers. I even received complimentary luxury makeup when I arrived! There’s a spa service and even a pillow menu – so fancy!

The hotel also offers family rooms and a 24-hour front desk and room service. We felt truly welcomed and looked after – the team even surprised my boyfriend with a birthday cake! – and bringing us refreshments even long after we’d checked out, while we waited for our taxi transfer back to the airport.

Our Highlights

What we adored the most was the plentiful breakfast: the menu is vast and accommodating for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets. You select two entrees, and two beverages, from a daily menu, and it can be enjoyed in your room/suite or at the bistro downstairs which is absolutely beautiful.

The décor is minimal, elegant and super sophisticated. It made for a comfortable stay that felt luxurious too. I still can’t stop thinking about the shower and the gorgeous bathrooms! While I’d booked a Standard Double Room with a city view, we ended up having a beautifully spacious room with an added balcony.

Overall Thoughts

We loved our stay at The Marblous Athens. This luxury boutique hotel has carefully considered every corner of a relaxing stay and the team follow through. My boyfriend and I have already recommended it to our friends and now we can’t wait to share it with you too.
