Sundaze 60

September 17, 2017Sundaze

I’ve got a serious case of the Sundays today. You know, that feeling of impending early mornings and no more carefree bottomless brunches and having to dress in the 6am dark and venture out in the brisk September chill. The September Sundays are the greatest and the worst, aren’t they? (I’m secretly a huge fan of preparing bags and lunches in the evening.) But more on that in a minute. This weekend was a washout and we countered it with coffee runs – to take out and bring back into bed, of course – running errands, a little reading, a lottle food and cosy socks for every moment spent outside of the duvet. What can I say? It’s the September Sundays.

Back to school work

Last week I signed on with a new client. And by new, I mean old, and by old I mean back with a company that I once worked full-time for. And on Monday, I was back into my old routine, same digs, same faces. I’m so appreciative for everything that freelancing gives me and it’s been pretty great to be back helping out for my old team. It means that I’m currently at full client capacity and will be until mid-November and that I’ve hit one of my goals for the year. Yay! Being back in an office from 9-5 for three days does mean that my week is thrown completely out of whack though, so bear with me whilst I adjust.

New Glossier goodies!

Last month Hannah and I headed to the Glossier London pop-up and right afterwards, the team emailed everybody that attended to thank them with a gift. I can’t get over how incredibly cool the team are and how on point their marketing is. Honestly. Anyway, my gift arrived on Thursday and I’m now the proud owner of another Milky Jelly Cleanser, a Haloscope and Priming Moisturiser. I’m giving the moisturiser a little test-run at the moment – I’ll keep you updated.

Food; good for the Seoul

On Tuesday, us girls took Elodie out for a farewell meal before she left us for Seoul for THREE MONTHS. Her flight from France got in in the afternoon and we kidnapped her almost immediately to shower her with early birthday gifts, the greatest birthday card and take her to Hozi for a Korean feast of sorts. Hozi is one of my favourite places to eat Korean food (thanks for introducing me to it, Annabelle!) – it’s authentic, affordable and easy-to-get-to after work. Go for their bibimbap and tteokbokki, always. And their kimchi pancake if you’re extra hungry.

Transitional season shopping endeavours

My main quest of the week has been to assemble my autumn/winter style kit. It’s absolutely that awkward time of year where it’s chilly enough to don a cosy knit before you leave the house, yet you’re ready to surrender your life to heatstroke by lunchtime. I’ve had my Alexander Wang Kori boots re-soled, ordered a sweet new pair of mules and a shit tonne of newness from ASOS and I can’t bloody wait to get this season going.

Links I’ve Loved:

  • Half Baked Harvest shared this white pizza recipe and I’m ALL OVER THAT.
  • Tania’s photography is absolutely out of this world and her ‘A day by the Pool’ post perfectly encapsulates that.
  • Nobody does well-thought out beauty edits quite like Rebecca and her rainy day one is one of my favourites.
  • As somebody that’s felt stuck in a style rut for a while, this article on Darling Magazine really rung true to me.
  • Now that my favourite podcast – ‘My Dad Wrote A Porno’ – is done for the year, I’ve been looking for something new and equally as addictive to listen to. Harry Potter and the Sacred Text has absolutely filled the void: think Bible study but for the Harry Potter series. Genius.
  • Find me over on Goodreads, my current favourite website.
  • This is my new favourite jumper. Thank God for ASOS.
  • I can’t wait to try this Naturally Ella recipe for Vegan Smoky Beans with Creamy Polenta.
  • Megan’s review of the Prada Cahier Box has 100% sold me. Watch this space.

Instagram post 2193805226526666424_30616375 Name a dog more festive (and cute) than @milo.chai. ... I'll wait 😏🎄✨ #dogsofinstagram
Instagram post 2193084553068073079_30616375 Central Perk vibes 😏✨ Had the best time with my brother and sister at FriendsFest yesterday! We spend all of our time watching the episodes on repeat (like any self-respecting millennial) and it was incredible to see the sets and goof around together for a few hours, dressed like Rachel Green with my Gucci bag (“it's spelled like Gucky, which can be confusing”). Except from when a seven-year-old PUSHED ME OVER by Joey's Barcalounger. Fun fact: I used that copy of Vogue in my dissertation! #FriendsFestive
Instagram post 2192254609316598078_30616375 I finished reading this over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The Flat Share is a chick lit with a twist; I really enjoyed the sub-plots and clever character building throughout, but for some reason didn't adore the book. Beady-eyed readers who also follow me on Goodreads will know I rated it three stars which seems harsh, but simply means I enjoyed the book but wouldn't recommend it to a general audience and I wouldn't reread it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Have you read this book yet? #DaisybutterReads
Instagram post 2191316238771439516_30616375 “We can go drivin' in, on my scooter... Uh, you know, just riding in London...” 🎶. L O N D O N · G I R L :: Absolutely thrilled to share this masterpiece shot by @sianshoots. The moment I heard @taylorswift 'London Boy', I knew I wanted to capture it all, dressed in my @stellamccartney × Taylor look. I'm not from London and nor do I live there; but some of the best chapters of my life began here. My first writing job, falling in love, spontaneously buying designer bags on Bond Street, cab rides with friends in a drunken mess, food tours with my girls, hours-long walks, all amidst a grey drizzly haze. It all happened, and happens, here. London, you're so special. P.S. I have categorically never watched rugby in a pub with his mates 😂 ph. @sianshoots

Instagram post 2189524076451057863_30616375 Hello December 🎄😍 I'm ready for you and all of the last-minute packing, house moving (with my parents, not our own!), present-choosing, election voting and wrapping fun you can throw at me ✨ #DaisybutterBujo
