Petite joys

Oh it feels like it’s been forever since I grabbed my MacBook and settled down to write a ‘Petite joys’ instalment! Unlike most of the regular content that I share on Daisybutter, these posts are spur-of-the-moment ones that I don’t meticulously plan, edit, refine and tweak days before publishing. And I always look forward to writing them because it feels like those very first days where I’d return to my Uni halls in Southampton after a day of lectures and fill these online pages with whatever creative writing, oddments and thoughts, style wishes and beauty musings came to mind. These last two weeks have been action packed and it feels so nice to slow things right down tonight.
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this week:
一. Decluttering my beauty drawer down to the essentials. It feels SO good to slide the drawer open and be able to easily see everything I have at a glance.
二. On that note — the kryptonite combination of Glossier’s Solution and Super Glow, a pairing that’s totally reviving my skin at the moment and bringing back some radiance to my otherwise-tired complexion.
三. The new hanging planters we’ve put up at the front of our family home.
四. The final part of Andre Aciman’s ‘Call Me By Your Name’. So intoxicatingly beautiful.
五. It finally sinking in that I made the final five finalists of Blogosphere Magazine’s Blogger of the Year award, of in excess of 20,000 nominations. I finally let myself feel proud of me. (Last time I mention the awards, I promise!)
六. Unlocking three rate Gudetamas on my Gudetama Tap game.
七. That first gasp of morning air with the patio doors swung open.
八. Signing with a new pinch-me client!
九. Celebrating two years with my love today. Two. Years.
十. Having my cute pup back to normal after a nasty few days of his feeling under the weather.
