I read an article on The Everygirl at the weekend. It spoke about a concept called ‘catastrophising’ and I couldn’t help but think how much I resonated with it. Basically it’s the feeling of letting your thoughts negatively spiral out of control, which is absolutely what happens to me every time I think about the future. It comes hand in hand with being a business owner, as I know I wouldn’t have spiralling thoughts about unpaid invoices and SO much money owed if I wasn’t self-employed. But then I consider all of the incredible perks of working for myself and realise just how lucky I am. The last week or so has been a constant merry-go-round of these such thoughts.
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this week:
一. One final cheeky coffee on Sunday night, enjoyed while watching Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again.
二. My newest client win! I wrote a list in my bullet journal of all of my dream clients, and I only went and bloody secured a project with one of them! I can’t blooming wait to get stuck in.
三. Coffee and brunch and an almighty catch-up with our friend Amelia over the weekend.
四. Our stunning new Leesa Mattress, which has revolutionised Harvey and I’s sleeping. I shared an entire post about it at the weekend, along with an exclusive shopping code to receive £100 off your order.
五. Getting the last bits ready for my best friend’s hen weekend!
六. When I open a packet in the house and, out of the corner of my eye, see Milo plonking his bum down hopefully for a treat in exchange for his ‘sit’.
七. Early morning dog walks in the crisp late autumn air, practically running home to defrost.
八. Getting back into Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and inviting all of my favourite villagers to hang out at my campsite.
九. Reaching the very last page of a book and hearing that satisfying swish as you close it.
十. How very autumnal my Instagram feed happens to be looking at the moment!
