Petite joys

I always start writing these posts with valiant attempts to not touch upon how busy I’ve been or how mundane life really has been. And it wasn’t really until this very moment that I realised maybe this is what adulting actually looks like: inconsistent attempts at a consistent life. Or vice versa.

Either way, life has served me a heavy platter of BUSY lately and I feel grateful that I’ve siphoned a window of time just for me and the blog. It’s finally sunny, too, which means my wardrobe is now infinitely underprepared and I might just have to invest in a few switch-ups. Harvey’s working overtime tomorrow so I’m looking forward to an afternoon at the salon followed by a solo shopping trip. Oh the luxury!

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this week:

一. Successfully eating pasta with a spoon. Annoying (yet necessary due to lack of forks in the office), but satisfying.

二. Vibrant sunshine veiling London.

三. When everything neatly slots into your handbag or, in my case, backpack.

四. A new Kindle Unlimited subscription, courtesy of Harvey! I’m now reading Pachinko (and loving it!), at last.

五. The prospect of new beginnings.

六. Feeling as though things are going to slide into place after all.

七. A lifting session that made me feel strong af.

八. The anticipation for sharing a blog post you’re super proud of.

九. Pride for my friends’ successes.

十. A particularly delicious bottle of wine at dinner on Monday evening.

What’re some of your petite joys, lately?
