Petite joys

Praise be, we’ve made it to Friday!
This week has been a busy one at Chez Daisybutter. I mean, it always is, but this week I started my new contract position and I’ve just felt utterly drained staying on top of everything. I always enjoy starting a new contract, but it’s been tough getting used to the commute. Although thankfully, I haven’t had a panic attack yet (catching trains is my main trigger) so I feel like an absolute boss. I’m hoping to write a post or two about my new routine soon, would you like some content about that?
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this week:
一. Glitter, or rainfall I suppose, raining down the windowpanes.
二. The London Eye, peeking out behind the towering buildings, spied from my new desk.
三. Taking my bra, midi skirt and socks off as soon as I get back from my commute.
四. Wearing my ridiculously beautiful Stella McCartney x Stan Smith’s out for the first time.
五. A delightful coffee date with Fern, who honest to god is an absolute angel.
六. Nailing my riff on Pret’s Veggie Box, which has been this week’s lunch.
七. My current commute read, sparking conversation with SO many strangers!
八. The sheer delight on my pup’s face as I get in from work.
九. 38 days and counting in 2019, of no panic attacks. Hallelujah.
十. Realising that, actually, things always work out well in the end.
