Petite joys

Happy Friday! I’m writing this post on a shaky train, golden September sunlight radiating through water-stained windows, and it feels jarring to be conjuring up my moments of joy whilst surrounded by commuters. My (new) KeepCup is balanced in the crook of my arm, dangerously so, and my book is waiting in my lap to be read. Let’s recap 10 blissful moments then, shall we?

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. A sick day. This probably sounds wild, but I’m glad I listened to my body and took Tuesday off. I laid in bed, read a lot, watched Unbelievable on Netflix and got myself back up to 75%. That’s where I am right now. 75% here.

二. Bao with Sarah on Thursday. I live for our weekly lunch dates.

三. My Stella McCartney × Taylor Swift order arrived! And I can’t wait to shoot it…

四. A day spent with my sister. We’re the best of friends (still) and had such a great day at The Handmade Festival last weekend, topped off with a visit to Seven Dials Market.

五. After-work walks at golden hour.

六. Lovely, thoughtful and engaging conversations with Internet pals. Thankful to have so many great people in my life.

七. Dad’s coconut, ginger and garlic rice from Monday night. Delish.

八. The childlike wonder that comes (albeit briefly) from finally making a big decision but still not knowing what’s next.

九. The Pokémon & Chill playlist I found via Lauren on Spotify.

十. Working on a new blog post that I’m so excited to share. It’s finally coming together!

What’re some of the petite joys in your life lately?
