Petite joys

As I write this, it’s Thursday evening and I’ve had a wonderfully chill day of running a few errands, walking Milo, having soup with Louise for lunch, napping (I’ve been struck down with the dreaded cold that’s doing the rounds), shooting a few things for upcoming posts and reading. I finished up some client work that’s due tomorrow, and it’s mostly been a relaxed unexpectedly free day.

It’s on these chilled working days that I find the time to take stock and consider all of the little things that weave joy to my days. Isn’t it easy to write a day off after having had a long day at work? Or letting one negative tarnish everything that was good?

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. Those purple-tinted sunrises we seem to be seeing more of. It almost makes getting up in the mornings bearable.

二. A hot cup of teapigs Spiced Pear Tea. Absolutely delicious!

三. Really fluffy, cosy socks that I had the sense to pop on the radiator before I left the house. Perfect for shrugging into after a day in the November chill.

四. This month’s training bundle on Grow & Glow ! I’m starting to feel much more positive towards all of Instagram, and am finding new focus with Stories! (affiliate link used)

五. Beer-battered onion rings from Tesco.

六. How Harvey never lets me leave the house without a hot breakfast and a coffee in the morning.

七. My beautiful Papier Mini Photo Book! I made one full of the photos we’ve taken of Milo this year and I just adore it. It’ll look great on our shelf with our other Papier books.

八. The second tea of the day; Fern and I discussed over dinner on Tuesday night how the first tea/coffee is a necessity but the second one is the one you really enjoy. Isn’t that so correct?!

九. My new blog theme! I’m absolutely besotted with it and am feeling inspired to create lots of new content again.

十. Lunch with my girl Sarah on Wednesday, even if we were both horrifically ill and struck down with the classic November London lurgy. We dined at Seven Dials Market, took photos ‘for the ‘gram’ and had a wander around some beautiful new store openings.

Tell me a petite joy from your life lately.
