Petite joys
It’s almost the weekend!! And I’m, dare I say it, almost sad about it. This week has been pretty great, all things considered. Work was productive and rhythmic, and several pieces of wonderful feedback had me signing off on an exceptional high. Having limited activities to occupy myself with means that I have more time to appreciate and really analyse what I’m appreciative for. The entire world is slow now, as am I.
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:
一. How comforting grey skies feel when you’re cosied up indoors. Bonus points if it’s quiet enough for you to hear the pitter-patter of rainfall upon the windowpanes.
二. Space made when your ‘to be read’ shelf gets read!
三. A productive week at work, with wonderful feedback from clients, and a new client onboarded!
四. Enjoying a fresh cup of coffee as I made writing notes and watched Murder to Mercy: The Cyntoia Brown Story. I’m happy that this is my new Thursday routine, even though I lost my usual Thursday client a few weeks ago.
五. Watching Milo run wild on his walk; he’s always so appreciative of his daily walk. I’ve learned a lot from him recently.
六. Incredibly exciting emails, landing in my inbox!
七. Seeing my Animal Crossing: New Horizons island come together as I renovate it almost entirely. My obsession is going nowhere; I’m planning to upload and share another island tour on IGTV or YouTube soon!
八. The BYREDO Bibliothèque Scented Candle; a slice of pure olfactive goodness in my cosy sanctuary.
九. Birdsong before rain; a call of community, reminding pals to shelter. Also, rain! It’s blissful to watch when you know you won’t be outdoors.
十. Payday, a.k.a. new books day!
What are some of your petite joys, lately?
