This fortnight, I have so much to be grateful for and my list of little joys is as full as my heart. Since we last caught up in a ‘Petite joys’ post, my sister and I launched & Chai! And it feels so good. Without sounding corny, running our own handmade store feels incredibly right and aligned with everything we adore and stand for. Besides that, I’ve been thriving in lockdown 2.0 in ways that I could only hope for during the first one. I’ve found a great little rhythm for my own routine, and now that we’re *checks watch* nine months into predominantly being at home, I’m able to cope much better.

There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. Friday morning November fog and the lull of stale bonfires in the air.

二. Stackfuls of & Chai orders at the door, ready to be shipped to their new homes! I feel so grateful to have so much support, even whilst launching a new business as we went into another national lockdown.

三. A tofu-and-broccoli bowl for lunch on Thursday. I’m INTO warm lunches as the chill tightens its grips on England.

四. When you take that first step onto cosy plush carpet after treading on wooden flooring. Ditto that for stepping out of the shower, onto a fluffy bath mat.

五. Lo-fi playlists and the gentle wrinkling and crisp rustle of book pages turning.

六. Ticking off house jobs from the list, especially now there’s more time for it. I’ve even unpacked my collectibles.

七. My Discord community, who continue to be a ray of sunshine through all of the times we’ve endured this year. Join us here!

八. Clean skin, after a complete skincare routine.

. His Dark Materials returning to our screens!!

十. Burning my cherished BYREDO Bibliothèque candle, after weeks and weeks of testing new(!!) fragrances for & Chai.

What are some of your petite joys, lately?
