Sundaze 200

Um, hello?! Welcome to the 200th instalment of this blog post series that’s become somewhat of a lifeline to me. Happy 200th Sundaze!!

I didn’t know what to write here when I opened up my MacBook, but now it seems pertinent to open with a little ode to this series as we hit this milestone and I’m a mere two days from my 30th birthday. Sunday has long been my favourite day of the week. It’s gentle and quiet, warm and soft, the world slows down by a touch and, for me, it was the one day of the week that I got to spend with my family, at Granny’s. Of course, as with everything, that doesn’t happen anymore. In fact, just five weeks into starting this series, we lost my Granny. Now, it feels like an homage to her, a couple of moments each week to recount my days and note down the highlights, open up a discussion. I’m really glad I started this series, and I’m in awe of the cosy community we’ve created. You all mean SO much. <3

This week felt like a blur. For some reason, work days feel even longer than usual, and then my evenings race by – the usual recipe of games, WhatsApp chats, dinner and staring into the void. Yet things do feel cautiously optimistic, what with a vague roadmap out of lockdown announced, and the bountiful blue skies we’ve had. Gosh, I’m so bloody British sometimes. It’s always tied to the weather, isn’t it?!

& Chai flash sale!

If you’re reading this post as it publishes, there’s a few more hours left to shop our payday flash sale at & Chai! There’s 10% off our Soy Candles until Sunday 28th Feb, 2021, 12pm GMT. We wanted to treat our customers as it’s been a long ol’ winter, hasn’t it? A candle or two always brightens the mood.

Plus, it meant we could make a little space for something very exciting landing soon, which could tie in slightly with this post’s title…! To be the first to hear about, be sure to subscribe to the Daisybutter newsletter.

The beauty of enveloping silence

I’ve spent much less time than usual on social media this week, and even just my phone in general.

It’s felt unbelievably nice. More than ever before, I feel really disconnected from Instagram and Twitter. How can a 1×1 photo capture what I feel or want to say? Are these platforms really set up for me to use in the way I’d want to? I’ve been ruminating a few things, and mostly come to this conclusion: I’ll use them sparingly, as a ‘slice of life’ again rather than a ~platform~. Things just feel so much cosier and free ‘round here, y’know?

Pokémon Legends Arceus!!

It was the 25th anniversary of Pokémon Red and Blue (and Green!) yesterday, and so Pokémon announced some new releases! I’m still feeling pretty undecided about the Diamond and Pearl releases, but I am absolutely living for Pokémon Legends Arceus, and I really hope they manage to pull the open-world format off. 2022, I am so ready for you.

How have you all been doing? I’m so sorry for the lack of any regular programming around here; I’m not feeling very regularly programmed!~
