Open-hearted joys 開開心心 48
Friends! I am finally feeling Like Myself™ again and couldn’t be happier about it. I’m chalking it up to me not being able to cope with the extended British winter we had but, equally, I’ve been putting in the work to overhaul my mindset: positive affirmations, more outdoors time and movement, journalling, a better/simpler diet. As such, I feel very ready to take on the world again and possibly get back to some more blogging?
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer, details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite, open-hearted joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. A wholesome Saturday spent bookshop-browsing and -hauling with friends, rounded off with a sushi feast for lunch. I picked up five books and acquired another on loan from a pal – go and check them out on @daisybutterbookcafe.
二. Nourishing my body with delicious plant-based whole foods. In a bid to feel more like myself, I overhauled my diet again and am back to my old favourites.
三. Opening blackout curtains (essential for a good night’s sleep!) to reveal bright and light blue skies. Yay, spring!
四. Celebrating my boyfriend’s nephew’s first birthday! It was such a lovely, relaxed day.
五. My new Sisterhood Yana Pants. They’re made from deadstock fabrics – fabric saved from landfill or destruction and often offcuts from textile factories.
六. New notebook feels.
七. Working on my spring skincare routine. I find my skin requires different things as the seasons change, and I’m honestly loving popping upstairs five minutes earlier each evening to play with a few products.
八. A date night with my boyfriend at our favourite local restaurant. I love that we always prioritise a date night each week.
九. Plenty of family time. Dad is home from his four-month trip back to Malaysia, and it’s been so nice to see him more again!
十. The prospect of having plenty of friendship dates scheduled in. So excited to spend more time with my girls after a quiet start to the year. (Apparently I am fuelled by sunshine!)
What are some of the little joys in your life lately?
