Petite joys
Hello!
This week’s ‘Petite joys’ instalment comes at a particularly apt time as I had some bad news regarding a client of mine yesterday, which instantly put a downer on my day and has added some unexpected stress to my working weeks. Instead of worrying too much though, I amended my (now scarily quiet!) diary, cosied on in for a coffee and a chat via WhatsApp to my friends, and began composing a list of all the things I have to be grateful and happy about. Of course in between I did a lot of client hunting and idea pitching(!!), but the general consensus is that times may be bad(ish) but there is always something sweet on the horizon.
That aside, it’s time to reflect on the smaller things in my world. There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this week:
一. Being greeted by sunrays squeezing their way through my curtains in the morning.
二. Tending to my stunning bouquet of irises and roses from my Freddie’s Flowers delivery almost two weeks ago! These flowers just last and last.
三. Feeling like an absolute boss after nailing this week’s Barre class and after hitting a new PB on my weighted leg press at the gym. After a three-week plateau, I managed to press 90kg!!
四. A pocket of time on Thursday devoted to getting stuck back into my once-beloved K-dramas.
五. Dad’s enthusiasm at being roped in on a new blog post that I’m working on.
六. Our first few garden vegetables beginning to pop up! Fingers crossed that they’re eventually edible…
七. Writing up Harvey and I’s new Avengers workout regime. Yep, you read that correctly!
八. Accidentally on purpose falling asleep at 10.30pm on Wednesday night and waking up feeling like a new woman.
九. How I’m eating my words because Glossier’s Solution is doing a world of wonder for my skin during this transitional spring period.
十. The palpable excitement in the air for this weekend’s Royal Wedding! (Drama aside, that is.) Plus, have you read my wedding guest wardrobe guide? It might just be one of my favourite posts ever!
