Guys… It’s moving day! This afternoon, my parents pick up the keys to our new family home and we’re all thoroughly excited. The last three weeks have been a bit all over the place and I’m honestly just thrilled to be a few days away from having all of my things together in one place again. My weekend is already booked up with unpacking, cleaning, B&Q runs and all of that good stuff, and I can’t wait to get stuck in with making the new house a proper Chai home. I’m going to be documenting my new room (and possibly the new office and vegetable patch!!) over on my interiors Instagram, if that’s your jam. Follow me at @daisybutterathome.
Aside from that, the past two weeks have been a total rollercoaster for endless reasons I won’t get into right now. And with the heartbreaking news about Caroline Flack, there’s never been a greater time to slow things down to a gentle ebb, take time to catch up people, properly, and take care of each other.
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:
一. The first few early spring blossoms, budding and blooming.
二. My new tortoiseshell nails teamed with my beautiful new Daisy Jewellery women’s rings (gifted). I chose the Stacked Double Rope Ring and Estée Lalonde Goddess Hexagonal Ring, which have both barely left my fingers since I received them. Plus, whilst 95% of my belongings have been packed up for three weeks, they’re making me feel more like ‘me’.
三. Saturdays that feel like Sundays.
四. Securing a new brand deal for the blog, my first of the year!
五. When your girls unfailingly rally around you in an hour of need.
六. Getting another 1,000 words in to a passion project.
七. Finally finding (and securing) a Linda McCartney Vegetarian Chicken Bucket – it’s absolutely delicious!
八. The sheer joy and excitement of it being moving day. I can’t wait to put my bed together, paint, go to IKEA, decorate!
九. A much-needed video call with my sister and Milo at the weekend – I’ve missed them so much!
十. Red lentil pasta with red pesto, nutritional yeast and some salt and pepper – understatedly delicious.
What’re some of your petite joys lately?
