Open-hearted joys 開開心心 74
All of a sudden, we’re on the cusp of summer and I have a huge diary of events waiting for me. Top of my list is The Eras Tour, which is my biggest petite joy. I’m lucky enough to be seeing her in London twice, by a twist of fate, so I’m excitedly working on a night two outfit and hurriedly making loads of friendship bracelets. If you spot me by Wembley this summer, let’s trade bracelets!
There’s a lot to be said for appreciating the smaller, not necessarily finer, details of the everyday mundane. Here’s to another list of petite, open-hearted joys, the moments that’ve brought and woven poetry to my days, this fortnight:

一. Lazy Sunday afternoons on the sofa with a book and my dog for company.
二. An after-dinner walk ‘round the fields, admiring every bug, wildflower, bee and skyscape that we spotted. Plus, friendly chitchat with passing strangers.
三. New notebook feeling. I’ve just set up a fresh bullet journal to start from June onwards, and I’m really excited to start using it. A couple of fresh trackers are sure to motivate me for the rest of the year.
四. Feeling accomplished for securing a salary raise and healthy bonus. Work is a big joy for me lately and I have so many fun projects on the go for the upcoming year!
五. The true crime, restaurant and sustainable lifestyle chats that I always have with my nail tech. Better than therapy, if you ask me.
六. The crispy smashed potato salad that my sister and I made on Wednesday night.
七. The beautiful, blousy peonies that my boyfriend got me for a very special date. They bloomed perfectly and lit up my cosy days at home, as well scenting my room just-so!
八. End-stage The Eras Tour prep. My evenings are full of breaking in cowboy boots and making friendship bracelets and panicking about which small handbag matches my Fearless and Midnights dresses without being cumbersome in the standing pit. All that aside, I am SO excited for tour in London this summer. It’s been a long time coming!
九. Finally filling up my Little Free Library! I’ll share more about this in a standalone blog post soon, but I’m finally a LFL Steward and couldn’t feel prouder.
十. A dreamy date day in the London sunshine last weekend. We had a four-course dining experience gift from Christmas to redeem, and then spent our day lazily wandering around – just what we needed before a stretch of busy weekends.
