My Everyday Bridal Era Skincare Routine
The countdown to our wedding is on, which means my big wedding checklist is out and top of mind, ever since I booked my makeup artist, is my beauty and wellness regime. It’s typically recommended to factor in a proper regime – and book in appointments – from about nine months’ until the wedding, and I’m thrilled with my current, everyday ‘bridal era’ skincare routine.
My everyday routine is just that: a skincare regimen for the everyday where I don’t have any major skin concerns, and when I’m not adding in deep-cleansing or deep-hydration masks. I’m focusing on keeping my skin glowy and plump so, twice a week, I have a more in-depth regime. I also gua sha my face and body every other day. Not one to change things up too much, my everyday skincare routine is structured around my failsafe Dermalogica products.

The daytime ritual
Dermalogica Magnetic[+] Afterglow Cleanser
My current cleanser of choice is the creamy Magnetic[+] Afterglow Cleanser. I love the soothing feel of it, and it leaves my skin feeling clean and comforted with a bouncy feel. It’d be great for those with normal to dry skin: I have ‘normal’ skin that suffers from dryness when the seasons change.
The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin
Something I’m perennially self-conscious of is the freckle pattern on my cheeks. Don’t get me wrong: I love freckles. I love the ones on my nose and tops of my cheekbones. But I’m self-conscious of the ones on my lower cheeks. And, since I have East Asian skin, my complexion is fairly prone to hyperpigmentation. Alpha Arbutin helps to reduce the appearance of dark spots, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone, and I apply it daily before moisturising.
Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50
I must talk about the Dynamic Skin Recovery moisturiser and sunscreen at least twice a week, whether to friends or family. But it’s for good reason. This little bottle of Dermalogica goodness applies like a dream. The texture is light and smooth, and doesn’t leave a tacky feeling on the skin.
Beauty of Joseon Matte Sun Stick SPF50+
Finally, I’ll pocket my Matte Sun Stick to top up my facial SPF throughout the day. This little stick from Beauty of Joseon is popular for good reason! I stocked up on several of them while visiting my bestie in Seoul last year, and I’m already excited to do so again this October. Mattifying without drying out the skin, this Matte Sun Stick can also be applied over makeup, which I love!
By night
Dermalogica Magnetic[+] Afterglow Cleanser
Come evening, I’ll follow up with another four-step routine. I begin with the same creamy cleanser to wash off makeup and daily impurities.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
For a double cleanse, I then follow up with Daily Microfoliant, which has been a holy grail product for me for almost a decade. This exfoliator mixes with water to create a deeply cleansing and hydrating exfoliant, and is gentle enough for everyday.
Dermalogica Circular Hydration Serum
I use a range of serums, really, but the Dermalogica Hydration Serum is a main go-to because it feels so lovely to use and really plumps my skin. A few drops massaged into my face is perfect to prime my skin with some hydration before I apply my night cream.
Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream
Finally, I am obsessed with the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream. Rich and indulgent while still being light enough for year-round use, I apply a generous layer and this is often what I’ll use on my gua sha evenings as well.
